Cascina Nuova is a farmhouse located in the country-side surrounding Perosa Canavese, close to main high ways of Ivrea and Scarmagno. Perosa is a little village of 500 inhabitants founded in the XII century as a domain of the San Martino Counts.
Formerly Cascina Nuova was a property of the Michelini Counts of San Martino. Manassero family members, emigrants from Cuneo in the Southern Piedmont, moved there is the years following the Second World War and worked as sharecropper of the Counts. One of the children, Aldo Manassero, bought the farmhouse from the Count family aiming to restore it and bring it to its old charm. The farmhouse has been carefully renovated in order to maintain its rural style with terracotta tiles, stones and exposed beams.
The farmhouse dates back to the ‘700. Here man, animals and natured lived in close contact for centuries. The barns still mantains their original structure with ancient vaults and archs and have been turned nowadays into the main hall for the guests. Cascina Nuova is managed by Aldo’s daughter and nephew who still aim to preserve its authenticity. The farmhourse is surrounded by 25000 sq meters of field. Nearby flows a creek protected by the Authotity of environmental resources.
Guests passionate about bike trips and hiking will particularly enjoy the trails in the nearby of Cascina Nuova. The quiet and uncontaminated nature offered by the peaceful country side under the mountains of Aosta Valley, is still the shelter of different types of birds, between them the heron. Cascina Nuova is located only few km from major cities and from high ways to Turin ( 1 hour drive) and Milan ( about 2 hour drive)
